ABSTRACT

The traditional SPC Charts are not efficient when we need to evaluate the multiple characteristics of a product, which is produced in short production runs.

To address the above situation specialized SPR Control Charts have been developed, which apart from reducing the number of control charts also help the organization to improve the stability and capability of short production run products.  In a test case, use of these charts helped reduce the internal scrap levels significantly by 70%, from the pre control chart period.  Significant improvement in Cpk levels also has been achieved.

The speaker likes to popularize this concept of specialized SPR Control Charts for management of short production runs and multiple product quality characteristics so that more and more organizations can get the benefit of the concept.
